Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray raises a question after the controversial Miss Universe 2025 concluded.
Mexico wins the Miss Universe 2025 crown, but this was clouded with controversy, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray raised this question.
The recently concluded Miss Universe 2025 pageant was surrounded by controversy and allegations of rigged results. Fatima Bosch of Mexico is the crowned Miss Universe 2025; however, many were in distress over the result, if only the performances during the Question and Answer portion were to be given any significance.

The other winners are:
- 1st Runner-up: Praveenar Singh, Thailand
- 2nd Runner-up: Stephany Abasali, Venezuela
- 3rd Runner-up: Ahtisa Manalo, Philippines
- 4th Runner-up: Olivia Yacé, Cote d’Ivoire
The question was: “If you win the title of Miss Universe 2025 tonight, how will you use your voice to empower young girls?”
The winning answer of Mexico was: “As Miss Universe, I will say to them: believe in the power of your authenticity. Believe in yourself. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. And never let anyone make you doubt your worth, because you are worth everything, and you are powerful, and your voice needs to be heard. Thank you.”
While all of them answered smoothly and flawlessly, netizens put much thought into the context of each. Upon assessing, they were torn between Miss Cote d’Ivoire and Miss Philippines in terms of winning the crown, but the expected outcome turned out in reverse for many, accordingly.
Some have agreed that Miss Thailand was encouraging, and Miss Venezuela highlighted values and communication. However, the Philippines answered with practicality and set a realistic plan where the Miss Universe platform would be of real use. She offered the actual groundwork while the other chose to be inspiring, encouraging, and empowering.
The reactions were divided, especially since the controversy had already clouded the pageant even before the grand coronation.
One of the best Miss Universe queens, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, spoke about the matter and echoed the sentiments of many. She congratulated Manalo in her Instagram Stories, but in her Instagram broadcast channel after the announcement, she asked, “Wala na bang bearing ang Q&A sa MU?”

Gray made the remark as viewers and fellow celebrities questioned this year’s results, noting that the Philippine representative gave one of the most composed answers in the final round and delivered a consistently strong performance throughout the competition, yet still finished as third runner-up.
