SALN of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Released to Public
BONGBONG MARCOS’ NET WORTH – The wealth of the President grew massively by over 1,600% from 2005 to the end of 2024.
All senators have previously released copies of their SALN (Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth) amid the corruption issues in the Philippines. Their move came after Ombudsman Boying Remulla requested the lawmakers to voluntarily disclose their SALN to the public.

Remulla lifted the restrictions on the public access towards the SALN of the government officials. The Office of the Ombudsman is the repository of the SALN of the president, the vice president, the local government officials, and the Constitutional commissions’ officials.
The Ombudsman lifted the restrictions that were implemented during the term of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires, the country’s chief graft-buster under the term of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. In his memorandum, Remulla stressed that public office is a public trust.

Amid the lawmakers releasing copies of their SALN, there were calls for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to release a copy of the said document that shows his wealth. Malacañang previously said that Marcos Jr. will only release his SALN to the “proper authorities”. Recently, a copy of the President’s record of wealth crossed the surface.

Based on the SALN of Pres. Bongbong Marcos as of 2024, he has a net worth of P1.375 billion on December 31, 2024. His current wealth is more than 1,600% higher compared his wealth in 2005 based on a report on GMA News.
Marcos Jr.’s SALN showed a net worth of P79 million in 2005. Based on the report, during his last term as governor of Ilocos Norte in 2007, his wealth grew to P120 million. After it, he became a congressman in the same province and his net worth increased further to P180 million.
In 2009, the net worth of now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos increased by over P135 million to more than P315.5 million. Based on the report, the huge increase in his wealth was reportedly due to his share in the Cabuyao property that the Sandiganbayan has ordered to be returned to his family.
In 2022, the net worth of the First Couple was more than P908 million when Marcos Jr. secured the presidency. His current wealth was assessed by Cuervo Appraisers, the same entity that evaluates the value of the properties of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos since 1997.

Aside from the wealth of the President, the SALN of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also released amid the corruption issues in the Philippines.
