Former House Member Zaldy Co Tags PBBM, Romualdez in Corruption Issue
ZALDY CO – The resigned House member claimed that former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and President Bongbong Marcos alleged got P56 billion kickbacks.
The flood control issue in the Philippines dragged the names of several government officials including senators and congressmen. However, amid the calls for Co to return to the country and face the allegations against him, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was tagged in the flood control mess.
Zaldy Co claimed that Marcos Jr. allegedly ordered the insertion of P100 billion in the 2025 budget. According to the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative, he confirmed the order to then-House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Co did not stop throwing accusations against Marcos Jr. and Romualdez with the release of the first video he posted on social media. He went on with the second and third videos wherein he spoke more allegations against the President and the former House Speaker.
In the latest video that he posted on social media, Zaldy Co denied the claim of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineer Henry Alcantara who previously said he allegedly pocketed P21 billion in kickbacks. According to him, the actual amount was allegedly P56 billion and it supposedly went to Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“Ang sinasabi nilang halaga sa ICI (Independent Commission on Infrastructure) ay P21 billion. Hindi po totoo ’yan. Ang totoong numero ay P56 billion at ang halagang ’yan ay kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos at Martin Romualdez napunta lahat,” Co said.
Zaldy Co left the Philippines in July. According to him, he was allegedly set to return to the Philippines after the 4th State of the Nation Address or SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos but he was supposedly told to stay out of the country as allegedly ordered by the President.
Co claimed that he expected that he will be taken cared of. However, according to him, he was made as the “poster boy” of the government’s fight against corruption. On his corruption claims against PBBM and Romualdez, the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative said that he allegedly has proof.
Zaldy Co also claimed that then-House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly warned to shoot him if he will speak. In his post, the former House member also claimed that Romualdez allegedly warned him over the phone not to return to the Philippines.
“March 2025 pa lang, si Speaker ay nagpaparinig na sa aming meeting na he will shoot me if I will talk. Don’t come home, we will take care of you,” the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative said.
In his series of videos, Zaldy Co also confirmed the claims of Orly Guteza, his former aide who tagged Romualdez in the flood control mess.
Only a sworn statement will have weight in court otherwise, he is just a clown or a marionette being held and pulled by strings from his master/s performing in a sideshow.
