Jake Ejercito shared a tribute post for JPE
Netizens slammed Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito for sharing a post about the late politician Juan Ponce Enrile.
Jake came from one of the most prominent clans in the entertainment industry and politics. He is the son of Senator Jinggoy Estrada. Over the years, he was able to establish his name in showbiz and was given projects that boosted his career.
Jake is one of the showbiz personalities who are not afraid to speak their minds on social media when it comes to political and social issues. In the past, he has called out certain politicians who were involved in issues.
Jake Ejercito was also very vocal in his support for former Vice President Leni Robredo and her allies. He actively campaigned for them. The actor would receive praise from netizens who liked how vocal he is when it comes to his views.
However, he received negative reactions after he shared a post paying tribute to Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, who died on November 13 at the age of 101.
In his Facebook post, Jake started his story from the first time he met the centenarian, and that was in 2011. At that time, JPE was already around 90 years old. The actor, seated close to Enrile, was casually flipping through his younger brother’s grade school history book.
Then, JPE asked if he could take a look at the book, as Jake was on the chapter about the Japanese invasion. “After reading a few lines, he quipped, “The date here is wrong,;”
The actor looked at JPE, confused as JPE disputed a history book. Then, the politician said to him that he knew better because he was there.
“A lot has been said and will be said about the man. But one thing’s for sure: he has found his own place in our history books, one that history itself will continue to examine. Paalam, Manong JPE,” Jake Ejercito wrote.
