Albie Casiño shared his thoughts on the recent flooding issue
Actor Albie Casiño urged former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and engineer Slater Young to speak up following the controversy in his Monterrazas project.
To recall, the luxury village on the side of a mountain in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, that Slater introduced to the public a few years ago, was slammed by netizens after flooding happened in the province due to typhoon Tino.
He was blamed as netizens stressed that people had told Slater that his project would have negative effects on the public. Amid the issue, it was alleged that Slater and his wife, social media influencer Kryz Uy, traveled abroad.

Albie Casiño also shared his thoughts on this issue. He went viral after he took to his Instagram stories to criticize Slater Young, as one of the developers of the controversial Monterrazas de Cebu project.
As a result, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) launched a collaborative investigation to determine if the project complies with environmental regulations.
In an interview just recently, based on the article in Newsko, Albie expressed his disappointment with Slater’s silence on the issue.
“Nung nagsisimula ‘yung project, sinasabi niya na hindi raw mangyayari (harmful impacts). ‘Yung sinasabi nilang hindi mangyayari ay nangyari. So, I just wanna know,” the actor said.

Albie also said that at first, it was noticeable that there was not much talk about this, and, for him, it is a selective outrage. He even said that although he does not know them personally, he will not stop talking about the issue.
The actor said back in the pandemic, he became a trending topic after calling out the former President. After that, he promised his parents not to speak publicly about politics.
However, Albie said that this changed after he became a father. “I have a son, so I guess I’m more political now because, dati naman, wala naman akong paki kung anong nangyayari sa iba, ‘di ba? But now that I have a son, I want to leave a better future for him,” he shared.
With this, Albie Casiño said that Slater Young should be man enough to face the issue. “As a man, maybe speak up. Say something. ‘Condolences to the families, to the people who lost loved ones.’ Kahit ‘yun man lang,” the actor said.
