Piolo Pascual shared his thoughts on the typhoon aftermath
Kapamilya A-list actor Piolo Pascual pointed out that politics is not a business amid the devastating effects of the recent typhoon.
Piolo is one of the celebrities who lamented the effect of corruption in the Philippines. Amid the issue of the anomalous flood control projects, the actor expressed in September that he would remain a responsible taxpayer even though corruption in the government is so rampant.
In a recent statement, based on the article in the Inquirer, the actor wanted to remind the government officials that politics is not a business.

Piolo Pascual pointed out that the recent calamities happening in the Philippines should remind the Filipino people to be smarter when it comes to choosing the next leaders of the country. The actor also stressed that the government should do what is right in order to avoid losing lives when calamities happen.
“It’s a good time for us to assess who we vote for. Certain parts of the country’s able to withstand storms and typhoons because they have better infrastructure. I guess it’s a wake-up call,” the Kapamilya star said.
He added that even though this is nature telling us that calamities like these are inevitable, doing the right thing can preserve lives.

Piolo admitted that it breaks his heart to see people losing their homes and livelihoods. He was hoping that people would let their conscience work. “The ones who have the power, for them to finally realize that politics is not a business. It’s a public serving type of job,” he said.
He also reminded government officials that they were elected to serve their constituents, to help them have a better life. Then, the actor said that he hoped Filipinos would really get mad because this would make them realize that “corruption is s work of the enemy.”
“So, if you are eaten by selfish motives, then the enemy has overtaken you,” Piolo Pascaul said.
