Ukay-Ukay Owner in Palawan Earns Praise Online for Giving Free Clothes to Typhoon Tino Victims
An ukay-ukay owner in Palawan earns admiration online for giving free clothes to the victims of Typhoon Tino.
Recently, Ricamila Reynoso, a Facebook user, showed kindness in times of disaster by opening her small thrift shop, or ukay-ukay, to give free clothes to those affected by Typhoon Tino. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Reynoso invited her neighbors to visit her shop and take whatever clothes they needed. She shared that anyone could freely choose from the available items, which included pajamas, pants, dresses, shorts, kids’ clothes, pillowcases, and blankets. For her, helping others should never come with conditions or limits.

“No limit po ito, bahala na po sila kumuha ng mga kakailanganin nilang suotin para sa kanilang pamilya. Dahil sa pagtulong, wala ka dapat pinipili at walang iba sa aking isip kung hindi ang makapagbigay ng tulong kahit sa simpleng bagay na mayroong ipinagkaloob sa akin ng Diyos, akin ding ibabahagi,” Reynoso said.
Despite her store being small in size, many residents came to get clothes for themselves and their families. Word quickly spread online, and even people from nearby areas visited to receive help.
Ricamila said that all her items were given away within a short time, and she is now waiting for new stock to arrive within the next few days.

Many online users praised her for using what she had to support her community, especially when many in Palawan lost their homes and livelihoods due to the typhoon. She said that she only wanted to share the blessings she received and hoped that others would also find ways to help in their own simple means.
Though her ukay-ukay shelves are now empty, the kindness she displayed helped those who are in need.
