Remulla Confirms Alleged Issuance of ICC Arrest Warrant vs. Bato dela Rosa over Duterte Drug War
BATO DELA ROSA – Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has allegedly released the arrest warrant against the Senator.
Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte remains detained under the custody of the ICC since March. He is charged with three (3) counts of murder as alleged “crimes against humanity”. The foreign court denied his appeal for an interim release.

Furthermore, the ICC also junked the challenge of the camp of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to its jurisdiction. It ordered the former President to undergo a medical examination to determine his fitness to stand trial.
Amid the continued ICC detention of former Pres. Duterte, Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that he is the next person that the foreign court allegedly wants to arrest for the investigation. He had several change of stance over the matter.

There were instances when Sen. dela Rosa claimed that he is willing to be brought to The Hague, Netherlands if the ICC will issue an arrest warrant against him. According to him, he would even take care of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte there.

Dela Rosa was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the Duterte administration’s drug war. It was previously reported that “Dela Rosa” was mentioned in the case filed against the former President.
There were also instances when Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that he will seek all remedies that could prevent the ICC arrest. According to him, he would seek the protection that the Senate can afford him as an institution.
Based on the latest claim of Sen. Bato dela Rosa, he is ready in case the ICC will issue an arrest warrant against him. Recently, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that the foreign court has allegedly released an arrest warrant against the lawmaker.

Based on a report of The Manila Times, Ombudsman Boying Remulla confirmed the alleged issuance of the arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa through an interview with dzRH radio.
“I have it on good authority that the ICC has issued a warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa,” Remulla said.
As of this writing, Dela Rosa has yet to issue a statement. A few weeks ago, former Sen. Antonio Trillanes who was accused of visiting former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte inside the ICC detention facility claimed that the foreign court will allegedly issue an arrest warrant versus Dela Rosa and Sen. Bong Go.
