Jinggoy Estrada On Corruption Accusation: “Lilinisin ko pangalan ko”

Jinggoy Estrada reiterated his innocence amid corruption accusations

Senator Jinggoy Estrada wanted to prove that he is innocent amid the accusation that he received kickbacks from the anomalous flood control projects.

Estrada was one of the senators who were accused of corruption. When his name was mentioned during the Senate hearing on the anomalous flood control projects, the actor-turned-politician strongly denied his alleged involvement.

Just recently, he once again reiterated his innocence. He stressed that he never received money from flood control projects.

Based on the article in Bandera, this reiteration from Senator Jinggoy Estrada came after the decision of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to issue a recommendation to the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) to file plunder, bribery, and corruption complaints against Estrada and other government officials.

“Ang mga paratang laban sa akin ay pawang hearsay o batay lamang sa sabi-sabi. Wala akong tinanggap na anumang pondong nakalaan para sa mga flood control projects, at kaya kong patunayan ito sa hukuman,” the lawmaker said.

He also said that he is ready to defend himself and go through whatever legal process in order to prove that he is telling the truth. The politician also stressed that he is serving the people with integrity.

“Lilinisin ko ang aking pangalan, at buo ang aking tiwala na sa tamang panahon, mananaig ang katotohanan,” Estrada also stressed.

The lawmaker added that the resolution from the ICI would not weaken his determination to prove that he had done nothing wrong. He said that he will grab every opportunity to clear his name.

Aside from Estrada, Sen. Joel Villanueva, dating Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, and other personalities were also included in ICI’s resolution to file plunder, bribery, and corruption complaints.

Moreover, former Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, former Caloocan 2nd district Rep. Mitch Cajayon-Uy, and Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner Mario Lipana were also included.
