Netizens shared their experience calling the National Center for Mental Health hotline
Here are some of the netizens’ complaints about what they encountered when they called the National Center for Mental Health hotline.
The NCMH was formed as the Special Research Training Center and Hospital under the Department of Health on January 30, 1987. It is dedicated to delivering preventive, curative, and rehabilitative mental health care services.
In modern times, many people have been suffering from mental health issues. At some places, there is still a stigma hovering over this matter. Some people are not open to talking about this, while some people refuse to do so, or are still hiding behind the shadows.

Deaths connected to mental health issues have been reported in different parts of the globe. The Philippine government took measures regarding this matter.
National Center for Mental Health hotlines were released with the aim of opening a communication avenue for people who wanted to talk and somehow find someone who could listen to their problems or what they are going through.
However, a Reddit post from netizen @OrganicAd1884 under r/Pinoy showed a compilation of netizens’ complaints about their experience called the NCMH hotline.
One netizen said that there was no answer, and the line kept ringing. Another netizen said that he/she called, but the people behind the line weren’t that kind-sounding, which was expected for them to be. For a netizen, there was a lack of empathy from the one who answered the call.
“Tumawag ako dyan sadly, sinabi sakin ng kausap ko, ‘dahil LANG sa heartbreak?’” a netizen shared.

In the comment section of the post, more netizens expressed negative reactions, as they also had their own experiences.

As of this writing, the National Center for Mental Health has not yet released a statement regarding these complaints in the center’s hotlines.
