Miss Universe 2025 Will Have Adjustments Due To Queen Mother Sirikit’s Death

Miss Universe 2025 will have some minor changes because of the death of Queen Mother Sirikit.

Nawat Itsaragrisil announced that, due to the passing of Queen Mother Sirikit, Miss Universe 2025 will proceed, albeit with minor changes.

Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit died at age 93 because of a blood infection. She was the wife of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s longest-reigning monarch. She had been hospitalized for several illnesses since 2019 and had been out of the public eye since 2012 following a stroke.

Many were concerned about what would happen to the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, as it will be held in Thailand this November. MUO executive director Nawat Itsaragrisil spoke about the matter and revealed that the competition will proceed as originally scheduled; however, there will be some minor changes.

In a statement from Nawat, the schedule of activities will be done despite what happened, as the preparations and operations have been underway already. There were also contestants and team members from other parts of the world who had already arrived in Thailand for the competition.

There will be minor changes in activities and the show format to align with the recommendations and guidelines of the Thai government while the nation is still mourning.

Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2025 Ahtisa Manalo is now “10/10 ready in every aspect” for the pageant. She will represent the country in the pageant next month, and she was previously officially sent off. As she prepares for the global stage, Ahtisa promised to give her all.

She said, “This send-off, this is just the beginning of our competition. Mayroon pa tayong ilalaban na fifth crown, so I really hope that you still support me all throughout my Miss Universe journey when I get to Thailand. And ilalaban ko kayo lahat.”
