Female Vlogger Drowns in Flash Flood in Ivisan, Capiz
A female vlogger lost her life after drowning in raging floodwaters in Barangay Malocloc Sur, Ivisan, Capiz.
The victim was identified as Mae Urdelas, a 23-year-old content creator known online for her page “Ka Lovers Vlog.” She also worked at a local school canteen and lived in the same barangay where the incident happened.
According to reports, Mae was on her way home with her brother and brother-in-law when tragedy struck. While crossing a flooded stream in Sitio Bagaas on Saturday afternoon, around 5 p.m., she slipped and fell into the strong current. The rushing water quickly carried her away, making it difficult for her companions to save her.
Barangay Captain Allan Delos Santos said residents and barangay officials immediately searched for Mae. After nearly three hours of searching, her lifeless body was found about a kilometer away from where she had fallen.
Witnesses believe Mae may have hit her head on large pieces of wood carried by the flood before drowning. The heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Ramil caused the water level to rise rapidly, making the stream extremely dangerous to cross.
Before the accident, Mae had even posted on social media about the strong rains affecting their area. Her last post now serves as a heartbreaking reminder of her final moments.
Mae’s sudden death has left her family, friends, and followers in deep sorrow. Many netizens expressed their condolences online, remembering her as a cheerful and kind-hearted person.
Her remains now lie in their home in Barangay Malocloc Sur as her loved ones mourn the loss of a young woman whose life was taken by a tragic accident.
