Senior Citizen Arrested for Stealing Cash and Vape Products from Vape Shop in Quezon City
A senior citizen was arrested by the authorities after he was caught on CCTV stealing from a vape shop in Quezon City.
On early morning of October 8, 2025, a 61-year-old man was arrested after stealing from a vape shop along Quirino Highway in Barangay Sauyo, Quezon City.
The CCTV footage showed the elderly man squeezing himself under the shop’s roll-up door to get inside. Once in, he opened several cabinets, taking cash and vape products, which he placed inside his backpack.

However, when he tried to lift the door again to escape, he got stuck inside. According to Talipapa Police Station 3 chief PLt. Col. Von Alejandrino, the suspect forced open the roll-up door and crawled his way in.
The store owner, who was monitoring the CCTV, immediately noticed the break-in and sought help from nearby police patrol officers from the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU).
The responding officers arrived just in time and waited for the man to come out before arresting him. They recovered P3,000 in cash and around P1,300 worth of vape products.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had a criminal record and had previously been jailed for theft and other similar offenses since 2019.
The elderly man admitted to the crime. He explained that he only did it because his child was suffering from a heart condition, and he had already used up his small capital from selling corn to pay off debts.
The senior citizen said desperation pushed him to commit the act, but he now regrets his decision, knowing it only worsened his problems.
The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of Talipapa Police Station and is facing robbery charges.
