Vico Sotto was asked about Kiko Barzaga
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto had this reaction when he was asked about being compared to Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga.
To recall, netizens were comparing the mayor and the congressman. Barzaga caught the attention of the online community because of his viral social media posts.
One of the most controversial posts he shared was about Senator Ping Lacson. Barzaga shared a photo of the Senator with contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya, who were involved in the anomalous flood control projects.
The Cavite representative wrote in the caption of his post that the Senator should also be investigated.
Although there were people who admired the congressman, he also had a lot of bashers. For some, he just wanted to have people’s attention, while some accused him of being a clout chaser.
Along with this, an issue surfaced involving him and Mayor Vico Sotto. In an interview on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Barzaga was asked if he is going against the Pasig City Mayor.
“Well, you can see my post. Hindi ko kalaban si Vico Sotto. I admired him. He’s a great politician and like I said before, nu’ng inisip ko to go against (Martin) Romualdez, he was one of the people that came into my mind,” Barzaga said.
In a recent interview on the podcast of Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Mayor Vico was asked about the online comparison between him and Cong. Kiko. The Mayor downplayed it.
“I don’t really know him. I think there’s really no reason for comparing. But I understand that it’s the normal thing for people, especially online…” the mayor said.
Then, he said that he hoped that this would not be the case, but he knows that this is hard to stop online.
