Authorities Arrest Online Seller in Batangas for Selling Stolen Laptop
An online seller was arrested in Lipa City, Batangas after being caught selling a stolen laptop on social media.
The suspect, who already had two pending warrants of arrest, was tracked down by police following a report from the victim.
According to authorities, a 35-year-old accountant went to the Lipa City Police Station after spotting her missing laptop being sold on social media. The device, worth around P50,000, had been stolen from her home on October 3, 2025.

After verifying the online post, police confirmed that the laptop matched the one reported missing. It led them to launch an entrapment operation to capture the suspect.
During the operation, the man tried to escape but was quickly caught with the help of a police drone that tracked his movements. Upon his arrest, officers recovered the stolen laptop along with a wristwatch and an unlicensed .22 Magnum firearm.
The suspect was brought to the police station for questioning, while the recovered items were turned over to the rightful owner. Authorities are now preparing charges against him, including theft and illegal possession of a firearm.

Police also discovered that the man had two existing warrants of arrest for other offenses, which made his capture even more significant.
The Lipa City Police reminded the public to be cautious when buying gadgets online, as some items may come from illegal sources. They also encouraged victims of theft to immediately report incidents, noting that prompt action can lead to the recovery of stolen belongings.
The operation was successful bringing relief to the victim and a warning to those attempting to profit from stolen goods.
