Flash Flood

The video showed the strong flow of floodwater mixed with mud, tree branches, and other debris sweeping through the road.

According to residents, the Tinago Creek overflowed after being clogged by broken branches and debris washed down from the nearby mountains. This blockage caused the water to spill over and rush toward the highway. Thankfully, local authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) reported that the flooding was triggered by the ongoing Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which has been bringing scattered heavy rains across parts of Mindanao.

Many residents also shared their struggles as the flash flood caused power outages and damaged some water lines in the area. Some were unable to cross roads due to a damaged bridge and continued to rely on the help of barangay officials, rescue teams, and volunteers.

Despite the challenges, residents expressed gratitude to those who extended assistance and checked on their situation. They remain hopeful that electricity and water supply will soon be restored.

While no casualties were reported, the incident reminds the public to stay alert and prepared, especially during this rainy season when weather conditions can change without warning.
