Carnival Ride in Camarines Norte Malfunctioned, Leaving Six Individuals Injured
Six individuals were thrown off after the carnival ride they were on malfunctioned in Barangay South Poblacion, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte.
On Saturday (October 4, 2025), a fun night at a local carnival turned frightening when a ride malfunctioned in Camarines Norte, leaving six people injured, including a two-year-old child. The accident happened on the “Apollo Moon Rocket” ride, where several passengers were thrown off after one of the ride’s wagons derailed.
A netizen named Princess Galleta recorded a cellphone video showing people screaming and panicking as the ride suddenly stopped, while onlookers rushed to help. She shared how thankful she was that her family, who also rode the same attraction, was unharmed.

According to carnival manager Dave Loyola, the incident occurred just as the ride was about to end and was already slowing down. Their initial investigation revealed that a piece of clothing got caught in the rail, causing a bolt to snap and the wagon to go off track.
Police Major Norwen Abelida, chief of the Jose Panganiban Police, confirmed that the victims were brought to the hospital and are now in stable condition. The carnival owner personally visited them and promised to cover their medical expenses and provide any necessary assistance.
“Sa ngayon po nasa ospital sila pero nasa mabuti na po ‘yung kanilang mga kalagayan. Nagpunta po rito kagabi yung may-ari po nung peryahan. Sabi niya willing naman daw siyang makipag usap sa mga naaksidente at ipo provide nya yung mga pangangailangan ng mga ito,” Abelida said.
The local government also extended support to those injured and assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted. Authorities have ordered daily inspections of all carnival rides to ensure the safety of visitors before operations resume.
Meanwhile, the carnival management emphasized that they have safety protocols and a maintenance team regularly checking all rides. The incident served as a reminder for operators and visitors alike to prioritize safety at all times.
