TJ Monterde Speaks As “Sarili Nating Mundo” Nears End

Here’s what TJ Monterde said as the concert tour approaches its final leg.

“Palagi” singer-songwriter TJ Monterde reflects on his journey as his “Sarili Nating Mundo” concert tour approaches its final leg.

Success comes to those who wait, and this is what TJ Monterde has proved to many of us. After many years of writing songs and singing, just doing what he loves passionately, he is finally reaping what he sowed. He is now enjoying the success he surely deserves.

He almost quit and received a lot of rejections, but God did not let him go astray. He was put in a place where the path was long, but the walk was all worth it. He aced numerous struggles before achieving his success. This year was packed for him, going all across the globe for his “Sarili Nating Mundo” concert tour.

TJ is joined by his wife and musical partner, KZ Tandingan, and under the direction of actor-director John Prats.

Now that this tour approaches its final five shows, TJ reflected on the journey and described the entirety of it as “super overwhelming.” During a press conference, he shared that almost every weekend, they are somewhere performing, locally and internationally, and in each performance, they put in so much effort to give the audience a great show.

“As much as we can, siyempre binibigay namin ’yung best talaga, lalo pag outside of the country,” he said, and added. “Kasi iniisip namin na… ‘Pinaghirapan nila ’tong ticket na ’to eh.’ Kaya kailangan namin ibigay ’yung nararapat na experience for all of them.”

Across more than 40 shows, proposals have become a recurring tradition, one that audiences look forward to—broken only on a single occasion.

The final five shows of the “Sarili Nating Mundo” tour will take place on:

  • October 5 – Melbourne, Australia
  •  October 11 – Auckland, New Zealand
  • October 12 – Sydney, Australia
  • October 17 – Perth, Australia
  • December 2 – Abu Dhabi, UAE

TJ and KZ are returning to the Smart Araneta Coliseum for a two-night concert on February 6 and 7, 2026. This is still going to be under the direction of Prats.
