ABS-CBN actor Daniel Padilla receives ‘Outstanding Asian Star’ Award at Seoul International Drama Awards for ‘Incognito.’
Claiming his award from the prestigious body, the Seoul International Drama Awards, was Daniel Padilla. He was awarded ‘Outstanding Asian Star’ for his performance in the “Incognito” series. This was the same project that marked his venture into action.
The “Supremo of Primetime” has kicked off October, receiving recognition for his performance in the Kapamilya hit action series. He played the role of Andres Malvar, an ex-Scout Ranger turned undercover agent who becomes part of a private military group, carrying out operations against criminal syndicates that the government cannot openly confront.
The awarding ceremony was held at KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea, and in his speech after receiving the award personally, he began by thanking the team behind Incognito and his fellow cast members.
“First and foremost, thank you, Lord. I am truly honored to be here tonight to receive this award. Thank you so much, Seoul International Drama Awards for this recognition,” Daniel said in his speech.
“I want to thank my Incognito and Star Creatives family. Miss Des de Guzman, directors Lester Pimentel Ong, Ian Loreños, Wang Yan Bin. I also want to thank my co-stars, Ian Veneracion, Richard Gutierrez, Baron Geisler, Anthony Jennings, Maris Racal, and Kaila Estrada […] My Star Magic family and my home network, ABS-CBN,” he added.
His speech also reached an emotional point when he acknowledged the people closest to his heart and gave a touching shoutout to his mother, Karla Estrada. He quipped to his mother, “Mama, I made it.”
Daniel received the honor together with other renowned Asian stars, including Kim Seon-ho, Jisoo, Yu Bai, Film Rachanun Mahawan, Anna Jobling, and Kentaro Sakaguchi. The Outstanding Asian Star Award, given to top celebrities from Asian countries, is determined through global fan voting.
