Cebuano celebrities shared these posts amid the recent calamity
Several Cebuano celebrities, as well as beauty queens, offered prayers for the people of Cebu following the 6.9 magnitude earthquake.
On the night of September 30, Cebu and nearby provinces felt the strong quake that brought fear and worry. Bogo City, Cebu, was hardly hit by the tectonic quake.
A few minutes later, social media posts showed the damage left by the strong quake. Churches, buildings, establishments, and houses were destroyed. The earthquake also left cracks on the streets.
People from all over the Philippines offered prayers for the people of Bogo City and other affected areas in Cebu.
Several Cebuano celebrities also shared their prayers and messages of sympathy, based on the article in ABS-CBN. Singer Janine Berdin shared a news report from the Kapamilya network with a praying hands emoji.
“Praying para sa tanan affected sa earthquake in Cebu, please please stay safe [broken heart emoji],” Janine wrote in another Instagram Story.
Celebrity mom Ellen Adarna also shared about the earthquake with the tag “Pray For Cebu.”
Actor Bailey May also shared a post saying that he is praying for everyone in Cebu. Singer-actress Manilyn Reynes offered a prayer asking for help from the Almighty.
In former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Slater Young’s post, he gave an update to his followers that he is safe and thanked everyone who sent a message to him. He also said, “Praying for our fellow Cebuanos and everyone else affected from the quake.“
Cebuana beauty queens, Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez, also shared posts on their social media pages about the earthquake.
“Watch out for aftershocks… Pag-amping intawn sa mga naa sa Cebu karon,” Beatrice wrote. The Miss Universe Philippines Organization also released a statement expressing sympathy and solidarity to the people of Cebu City and the whole Visayas region after the strong quake.
