Earthquake In Cebu – Churches, Buildings Heavily Damaged (Photos and Videos)

The magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Cebu has devastated the church and other establishments.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded a magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Cebu. The earthquake rocked Cebu at 9:59 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The quake’s epicenter was located 17 kilometers north-northeast of the City of Bogo in northern Cebu, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

This has also sent tremors across various parts of Visayas, and aftershocks were expected. Damages have been reported in northern Cebu, as well.

The centuries-old Archdiocesan Shrine of Santa Rosa de Lima in Daanbantayan has partially collapsed, leaving many saddened. The tremor caused extensive damage to the establishment, shattering rocks and walls and leaving behind massive destruction.

Parroquia de San Pedro Apostol in Bantayan was also recorded swaying with the tremors.

A live streamer has also recorded a moment of him during the earthquake. In a post he shared, the caption said, “I hope nothing happened to anyone. Get well soon.”

This CCTV recording inside a residential house in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu, was also posted, sharing the intensity of the shaking.

As reported: “Employees, customers and other individuals who were inside the establishments at a business park in Bgy. Apas, Cebu City were seen outside after the earthquake that hit.”

Students and some members of the UP Cebu community also gathered outside to seek safety in the open field after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit them.

This was the situation in the Colon Night Market, and people were seen bothered and cramp amid the tremor. Several individuals sustained minor injuries.

This fast-food establishment in Bogo also suffered immense damage.

A mall in Consolacion, Cebu, also caught fire because of the massive shaking.
