Bicolano fashion designer Ellis Co recently made headlines amid the issues of his father, and here’s what we know about him.
Zaldy Co has been linked to the alleged corruption involving billions of pesos in ghost and substandard flood control projects, as well as questionable budget insertions. His real location is still unknown, but in his statement, he expressed that he is open to returning to the Philippines. However, despite several claims of coming back, he still hasn’t.

In a previous article, Justice Secretary Boying Remulla has ordered the filing of an Interpol “Blue Notice” application against Zaldy in connection with the flood control corruption allegations.
Recently, his son, Ellis Co, made headlines. In a lengthy post on Instagram. He spoke out against his father and expressed sympathy for those protesting corruption, declaring, “I am with you, I am on your side.”
Who is Ellis Co?
Before the issue erupted, he had established himself as a fashion designer under the brand .ARCHIVES. This is a brand he co-founded in 2022. According to the brand’s website, it “is a future-oriented conceptwear” that “exemplifies how they perceive distinct moments in time.”

His 2024 resort collection was launched at a fashion show held in Misibis Bay, Bicol, which is owned by his father, Zaldy. This was in 2023, and in the same year, he showcased his designs at the Rakuten Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024 in Tokyo in September and at the Tokyo Fashion Week Autumn/Spring 2023 in March.
He also claims that he is a singer and rapper. He released a five-song EP titled “Big Money Corp The Album” under the name Ellis G.
His full name is Michael Ellis R. Co, and reportedly, he is now 24 years old. His mother is Mylene R. Co, and his sister, Elyza Mikhaela, recently graduated from high school at International School Manila and is currently studying at Boston University.
Christopher “Kito” Co, his uncle, is the founder of Hi-Tone Construction & Development Corp, while his aunt, Farida “Diday” Co, is the current vice governor of Albay. The Co family is a prominent political and business dynasty in Bicol.
