Authorities Arrest 4 Policemen for Firing Guns at Birthday Party
Four policemen were arrested for firing their guns during a birthday celebration in Lipa City, Batangas.
On Thursday evening (September 25, 2025), a simple birthday celebration in Lipa City becomes a police matter after four policemen were arrested for firing their guns during the event. The incident happened at Barangay San Benito during the birthday of Police Staff Sergeant Ammargen Titular of Taysan Municipal Police Station.
The other policemen involved were identified as Police Staff Sergeant Billionaire Jan Calleja from Lobo Police Station, Police Master Sergeant Rowel Caguicla also from Taysan Police Station, and Police Staff Sergeant Val Alan Lopez from Mataas na Kahoy Police Station.
Authorities responded after a concerned resident reported the gunfire. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 71 empty bullet shells from 9mm pistols scattered around, along with two dud bullets and a deformed slug.
Evidence showed the shots were fired during the party, which was also captured on a Facebook live video where the sound of multiple gunshots could be clearly heard as guests continued celebrating.
The incident alarmed many residents, as indiscriminate firing poses serious risks to lives and property. What was meant to be a simple birthday gathering ended with the arrest of the very people expected to uphold the law and set an example of discipline and responsibility.
Documents are now being prepared for the filing of appropriate charges against the four policemen. The incident has raised discussions in the community about accountability within the police force and the importance of responsible firearm use.
