A hardworking mother dies after being attacked by hornets while looking for viand at a mangrove area in Puerto Princesa.
On Sunday, September 2, 2025, a mother of six lost her life after being attacked by hornets while gathering food for her family in a mangrove area at Sitio Marambuawaya, Barangay Kamuning.
The victim was identified as 42-year-old Analiza C. Badong. According to her family, she went to the mangroves with her fourth child, who is still a minor, to look for food they could cook for dinner.
It was there that hornets, locally known as ‘Turong’ suddenly swarmed and bit her multiple times. She sustained nearly 100 bite wounds across her body.
Analiza was rushed to the Ospital ng Palawan, but despite efforts to save her, she passed away the following day, September 21, 2025. Her death has left the community in deep sorrow, especially her six young children who are now left without their mother’s care.
Relatives shared that Analiza had always been hardworking, doing whatever she could to provide for her family. Her tragic passing not only brought grief but also raised concern about the risks faced by those who rely on natural resources to feed their families.
