Viral Video Shows Minor Dragged by SWAT Inside Hotel, Beaten by SOGO Staff

A disturbing video shows a SWAT officer dragging a minor up the steps of a hotel in Manila, where several staff members ganged up and beat him.

Last Sunday evening (September 21, 2025), protesters damaged and set fire to the entrance of Hotel Sogo along Claro M. Recto Avenue. According to witnesses on Facebook Live, a police officer allegedly fired a gun inside the establishment, which led to protesters chasing him.

The hotel itself was vandalized, with some furniture stolen and even a police motorcycle burned. Amid the chaos, the viral video of the minor’s beating has now raised serious concerns about accountability.

Ezra Acayan, a Facebook user, shared a video of a minor being dragged by a SWAT officer up the steps of a hotel in Manila. The post quickly spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from netizens.

After the incident, the officer was also seen bringing the minor back down, but the full context of what happened before and after remains unclear. Many viewers expressed anger and disappointment over the violence, while others argued that the actions of the hotel staff were triggered by the chaos earlier that evening.

Many internet users are questioning why such acts of violence were allowed stressing that no child should be treated that way, while others insist the damage to the hotel left staff members enraged. Authorities have yet to release a full statement on the incident.
