Firefighter Electrocuted While Responding to Fire in Kidapawan City
A firefighter is now in stable condition after being accidentally electrocuted while responding to a major fire in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
On Monday afternoon (September 22, 2025), a residential house was engulfed in flames along Osmeña Drive in Barangay Poblacion. Firefighters quickly rushed to the scene after receiving the alarm past 3 p.m.
Among those who responded was FO1 Bryan Macadangdang, who unfortunately came into contact with a live wire while helping put out the fire.

Despite the dangerous accident, his colleagues immediately came to his aid, ensuring he received medical attention right away. Fortunately, he is now reported to be in good condition and recovering from the incident.
The fire itself caused huge damage to the property, with investigators still working to determine its exact cause as well as the total cost of the destruction. Authorities are also reminding residents to take extra precautions, especially when it comes to electrical connections, since exposed or faulty wiring can be deadly during fire incidents.
The bravery of firefighters like Macadangdang portrays the risks they face in the line of duty. Every call they respond to carries uncertainty, and in this case, the danger of hidden electrical hazards became all too real.

Yet, despite these dangers, they continue to serve the community, often putting their own lives on the line to protect others.
Kidapawan residents were reminded of both the disastrous power of fire and the sacrifices made by those who fight it. While property can be rebuilt, the safety of the people remains the most important.
