Chavit Singson joined the massive protest
Businessman-politician Chavit Singson was booed during the rally on September 21, 2025.
Chavit is one of the most prominent political figures in the Philippines, aside from being one of the wealthiest businessmen. His presence in the political arena is still visible even though he is not currently in any position in the government.
Chavit has shown support for certain politicians with his endorsements and would sometimes even join political events.
On Sunday, Chavit Singson was one of the prominent figures who joined the rally against corruption. The protest was graced by many celebrities, and those who weren’t able to come showed their support on social media, just like A-list actress Angel Locsin.
Angel broke her social media hiatus to share her thoughts on the corruption issue in the country. She condemned the corruption and expressed how this situation saddened her.
Celebrities were welcomed by protesters, but this was not the same thing that happened to Chavit. Bilyonaryo News Channel shared a clip on Reddit under r/newsPH showing that as the businessman-politician was walking on the streets, rallyists were booing him.
When a reporter asked him about his reaction to the crowd’s reaction, Chavit said that it was because rallyists have different intentions, but he stressed that there should be one goal only.
“There should be one move, just to remove the President,” he said. Aside from “boo,” protesters also shouted “kadiri” repeatedly. Chavit Singson was escorted by policemen while walking in the rally area.
The businessman-politician is a known supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte.
Previously, Chavit Singson said that the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) of President Bongbong Marcos should start their flood control probe in his bailiwick, Ilocos Norte. The issue of flood control projects and the anomalies behind these have been a hot topic, and this triggered the public to air their dismay about corruption.
