Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte amid the Flood Control Mess in PH
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President is frustrated now that he can’t do anything over what is happening in the Philippines as per his daughter, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Three (3) of the Duterte siblings are now back in the Philippines and have aired their sides over the flood control mess in the country. In August, all four (4) Duterte siblings visited their dad inside the detention facility of the ICC or International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the former President really requested the visit of all his four (4) children together. Their visit came ahead of the initial schedule for the confirmation charges hearing of their patriarch.
Initially, the confirmation of charges hearing was set on September 23. However, after the lawyer of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte claimed that his client is experiencing a ‘cognitive impairment’, the ICC ruled to postpone the said hearing.
Amid their claim, British-Israeli lawyer Nicholas Kaufman expressed his hope that the Marcos Jr. administration will allow the return of the former President to the Philippines for his interim release. The Duterte camp has recently renewed their application for his interim release.
In the Philippines, one of the pressing issues that caught national attention is the flood control corruption that linked several senators and congressmen. There are also officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who are accused of receiving kickback from the flood control projects.
Dismissed DPWH engineer Brice Hernandez who is currently in the custody of the Senate is one of those involved in the flood control scam. Based on a report on GMA News, Hernandez is currently out to gather evidence. The dismissed DPWH Engineer got accusations against his former boss, DPWH Bulacan District chief Henry Alcantara.
Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has not been calling them lately. According to the Vice President, she talked to her sister, Kitty Duterte, who is in The Hague about it.
Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that she was told by Kitty that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte does not want his frustration from being incapable to do anything for the country now amid the issues. The Vice President also claimed that the former President has been changing mood.
“Ayaw niya daw ‘yung frustration niya na wala siyang magawa sa mga pangyayari. ‘Yun ang naiintindihan ko sa current mood niya so mahirap din kasi talaga pagka telepono ‘yung pag-uusap kasi choppy ‘yung linya, minsan hindi pa nagkakarinigan ng maayos, ganun, hindi mo ma-comfort ‘yung tao,” she said.
Amid the flood control issue in the country, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte lamented not being included in big decisions over the Philippines.
