Popular Orange Juice Brand Sparks Curiosity After Netizens Spot “Fish” in Ingredients

MINUTE MAID – A popular orange juice brand is now trending online after netizens noticed the inclusion of “fish” in its list of ingredients.

Recently, Marco Angelo Bajamunder Mena, a Facebook user, shared a photo of the ingredients of a Minute Maid Orange Mango drink. The post quickly went viral and gathered various reactions from people online.

At first glance, the drink looks completely ordinary, bright, refreshing, and something many people grab from the store without thinking twice. But upon checking the allergen declaration at the back, some were surprised to see fish listed as part of the product.

The label caught many off guard, especially those who never bother to read the fine print on packaging.

Food experts and some netizens explained that the presence of fish is not as alarming as it sounds. One possible source is isinglass, a gelatin made from fish. It is often used as a fining agent to remove impurities during production, making the juice look clearer and more appealing.

In some cases, fish oil is also added to fortify the drink with Omega-3 fatty acids, which are considered good for the heart. There have also been instances where fish-derived coloring was used to give the juice its rich orange tint.

These ingredients may sound surprising, but they are not new in the food and beverage industry. They are usually added in very small amounts and are considered safe.

The online buzz, however, shows how many consumers are unaware of what actually goes into their favorite drinks.

For some, the post was a reminder to read product labels more carefully. For others, it sparked curiosity about the many hidden processes behind everyday beverages.
