Here’s an update about Mirasol PH, a tropical depression, from PAGASA.

MIRASOL PH – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issues the latest information.

In the latest weather bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Mirasol PH is still a tropical depression, and several areas in Luzon are still under Signal No. 1.

Mirasol PH

It is slightly accelerating while moving northwestward at 20 km/h over the sea northwest of Luzon. At 1 AM, the location of its center was over the coastal waters of Burgos, Ilocos Norte (18.9°N, 120.4°E). For intensity, it has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 85 km/h, and a central pressure of 1002 hPa

As of this writing, there are no tropical cyclone wind signals in effect. It may potentially enhance the Southwest Monsoon as it approaches the landmass, and Northern Luzon may be put under Signal No. 1 on early Saturday, September 20.

The highest possible wind signal that may be raised during its passage is Signal No. 5, as the tropical cyclone has the potential to intensify into a super typhoon.
