Korean National Falls Victim to Snatching Incident in Pasay City
A Korean national became a victim of snatching in Pasay City, while speaking with his partner along the street.
During the early hours of Saturday (September 13, 2025), the foreigner falls victim to a snatching incident in Barangay 12.
Witnesses shared that a motorcycle with two riders passed by, and the passenger suddenly grabbed the victim’s bag. The Korean national tried to chase after them, but the suspects quickly sped away, leaving him unable to recover his belongings.
“May napansin akong nagtatalong babae at lalaki at pagtapos ho nun, may dumaang motor na magkaangkas naka-helmet ho,” the witness said.
Barangay CCTV footage showed the motorcycle rushing down the road as the couple attempted to pursue it. The chase ended with the victim sitting down in frustration at the side of the street.
The victim’s partner, who was visibly shaken, was seen comforting him. Barangay officials later clarified that the woman with the Korean national was the mother of his partner.
Barangay Chairman Yolly Neria confirmed that the incident was reported immediately, and police launched a backtracking investigation using available footage. The suspects were later spotted escaping through Derham Street corner Roxas Boulevard and FB Harrison Street, based on additional CCTV records.
According to a police report from Pasay City Substation 1, the stolen bag contained several cards, identification documents, and cash amounting to 96,000 pesos along with 50,000 Japanese yen.
Authorities are now conducting follow-up operations to track down the suspects. Residents have also been reminded to remain alert, especially when out late at night, as similar incidents have been reported in other parts of the metro.
