RTC Stops Talent Manager from Controlling Elias Lintucan and His Band
ELIAS LINTUCAN – The Regional Trial Court has granted Elias Lintucan and his band a major legal victory after issuing a preliminary injunction against their former talent manager, Beverly Labadlabad.
The Regional Trial Court (RTC) has issued a preliminary injunction in favor of musician Elias Lintucan and his band, the Elias J T.V. Band, against their former talent manager, Beverly Labadlabad.
In a resolution signed by Presiding Judge Arvin Sadiri Balagot of RTC Branch 17 and released on Tuesday, September 16, the court ruled that Labadlabad is temporarily barred from interfering in the professional affairs of the group while the civil case filed against her is still pending.

According to the band’s legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon of The Law Firm of Torreon and Partners, the ruling clearly establishes that Labadlabad can no longer exercise authority over the group. “Habang pending po ang kaso, hindi na puwedeng makialam si Beverly sa mga professional affairs ni Elias at ng banda,” Torreon explained.
The court specifically prohibited Labadlabad from three key actions: representing herself as the band’s manager, agent, or authorized representative; collecting or receiving payments on behalf of the band; and entering into any contract involving the group. This effectively allows Elias and his bandmates to independently manage their careers and professional commitments while litigation is ongoing.
The injunction stemmed from the civil case filed by Lintucan and his band seeking to nullify their “Artist Management Agreement” with Labadlabad. The case also demands accounting of damages, attorney’s fees, and a temporary restraining order against their former manager.
As part of the court’s conditions under Rule 58 of the Revised Rules of Court, the group has been required to post an injunction bond amounting to ₱1.5 million. Torreon explained that this bond serves as protection for the opposing party should the court later find that the issuance of the injunction was improper.
In a Facebook post, Torreon shared the band’s reaction, quoting their gratitude: “Alhamdullilah! Na-grant ang Preliminary Injunction ni Elias Lintucan and his band members laban kay Beverly Labadlabad… masaya po siya masyado sa resulta. Salamat po Ya Allah (swt) sa grasya na ito.”
The court’s ruling marks a significant win for Lintucan and his band as they continue their legal battle to regain full control over their music careers.
