Claudine Barretto talked about her family
Optimum Star Claudine Barretto has this reaction when asked about the recent issue involving her sister, Gretchen Barretto.
Claudine has been in the entertainment industry for almost four decades now. Her acting career started when she was just a young girl. She was able to establish her name in showbiz, away from the shadows of her older sisters, Gretchen and Marjorie Barretto.
It is known to many showbiz enthusiasts that the Barretto family went through conflicts and controversies. Fortunately, time would come when those differences would be settled, just like what happened to her and her brother.
In the second part of Claudine Barretto’s interview on the YouTube show The Issue is You! fearturing Ogie Diaz and Inah Evans, based on the article in Bandera, the actress shared that she and her brother reconciled, and it was through the effort of her nephew. Her brother apologized to her, and that time, her sister-in-law was in the hospital.
“So, ‘yung kuya ko naman in all fairness swallow ‘yung pride niya, nag-sorry siya and nasa ospital ‘yung sister in law ko na mahal na mahal ko, so, hindi na, hindi na lang (itutuloy ang demanda),” she shared.
However, the actress said that there was already a “lamat” even though they are now okay. Then, she recalled the time when Ogie said in his vlog that she could defend anyone else, but she could not defend herself. Ogie said that Claudine is really a good friend and she would really defend her friends.
At one point, Ogie mentioned that surely their mother is saddened by the conflict between the Barretto siblings. Claudine said that this was painful for their mother. The actress shared that she is the one focused on taking care of their mom right now, including the hospital bills.
She said that her siblings helped in the past, but right now, she is taking the responsibility. Claudine also said that she has not talked to her sister, Marjorie, and they haven’t seen each other.
When asked about Gretchen Barretto, Claudine Barretto said, “Ang ate ko, she’s very strong. Makikiusap na po ako, hangga’t hindi kayo hinahatulan, unless proven guilty inosente pa po ang tao. May usapan kaming magkapatid na we will not talk about each other, she never give me the authority to speak on her behalf.”
To recall, Gretchen was accused of being involved in the case of the missing sabungeros.
