Gas Stations to Implement Oil Price Hike This Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gasoline stations in the country announced another oil price hike starting this week.
Motorists are once again facing higher costs at the pump as fuel prices are set to rise on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The latest increase will mark the fifth straight week of price hikes for gasoline and the fourth for both diesel and kerosene.
Starting at 6 a.m., major fuel retailers such as Shell and Seaoil will adjust prices with a P0.10 increase per liter for gasoline, P0.50 for diesel, and P0.10 for kerosene. Cleanfuel will follow the same adjustments for gasoline and diesel, but its changes will take effect later in the afternoon at 4:01 p.m.

The upcoming round of hikes comes after several weeks of upward adjustments. Just last week, gasoline went up by P1.00 per liter, diesel by P1.40, and kerosene by P0.70. These consecutive increases have brought year-to-date adjustments to over P13 per liter for gasoline and almost P15 for diesel.
Officials from the Department of Energy earlier warned of possible price hikes, linking the trend to ongoing global tensions.
Events such as the Israeli strike in Doha targeting Hamas leaders and Russian drone incursions in Poland’s airspace have been driving oil prices upward in the world market, which eventually affects local pump prices.

Industry players also expect more movement in the coming week. Early estimates show that diesel prices could climb another P0.30 to P0.50 per liter, while gasoline prices may slightly rise or even see a small rollback depending on market conditions.
Filipino motorists may need to prepare for more weeks of higher fuel costs, as no huge price relief seems to be in sight just yet.
