Kim Chiu Statement After Mispronouncing IV Of Spades’ Name

Kim Chiu went viral for this “honest mistake”

It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu had this statement after she mispronounced the name of Pinoy band IV of Spades.

There have been several times when Kim became a trending topic across social media platforms. Aside from her projects or showbiz engagements, there were times she would go viral for funny reasons, but sometimes it was because of a controversy or issue.

One of the viral moments Kim had was because of her “bawal lumabas” statement. There was also a time when she became the talk of the town because she was mistakenly ambushed.

In recent months, Kim Chiu went viral because of her onscreen partnership with Paulo Avelino. KimPau fans have been gushing over their chemistry, and some supporters believe that they are already a couple in real life.

At times, Kim would also become a trending topic online because of what she does or says on the Kapamilya noontime show, just like what happened in a recent episode.

In a segment, the actress-host congratulated their guests. However, instead of saying IV (four) of Spades, she mentioned “I”, “V” of Spades. Clips of this immediately spread on social media.

Some netizens found it funny, but some expressed negative reactions, and they bashed Kim. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Kapamilya star answered a tweet from @sarcastic_ph8.

She said that she would answer because the account was fond of chasing clout. The actress-host stressed that it was an “honest mistake” since she does not know the band. Then, Kim pointed out that there would be no significant change even if she mentioned the name correctly.

She also said that there are more pressing issues in the country now, and what she said was so trivial compared to the matters that should have the attention of the public.

Let me just clear this out. Bilang mahilig ata tong acct na to sa ‘clout.’ Honest mistake, diko talaga sila kilala. Kung naitama ko yung pangalan nila. May magbabago ba? Mababalik ba satin yung ninakaw na TAX natin (Let me just clear this out since this account enjoys clout. Honest mistake, I don’t know them that much. If I say their names correctly, will something change? Will our stolen taxes be returned?) I think there is much more [problems] in PH now than this,” Kim Chiu said.

The noontime show host added that this would be the last time she would talk about this matter, which has less significance to the current issues.
