Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde reportedly deleted this post showing his project amid the recent flood control project issue.
Arjo is just one of the many showbiz personalities who eventually ventured into politics. He officially started his political career in 2022, and he was reelected as a congressman in the 2025 midterm elections.
Following the exposition of ghost projects related to the flood control infrastructure, Arjo’s name was dragged into the issue. He was accused of being connected to businesswoman Sarah Discaya’s companies, which were accused of orchestrating anomalous projects.
Discaya claimed that Arjo Atayde received kickback from flood control deals. The actor-politician denied this, and he stressed that he never had an encounter with Sarah Discaya and her husband, Curlee Discaya.
However, the congressman’s photo with the Discaya couple surfaced on social media. Just recently, a netizen noticed that Arjo deleted a post showing a tarpaulin with his supposed new project. Under the contractor label, it was stated Wawao Builders.
The said company is owned by Mark Allan Arevalo, who is accused of having ghost projects. Arevalo was one of the personalities who was in the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing regarding this issue. The post was shared in 2023.
In the comment section of the Reddit post, Arjo Atayde received bashing. He was accused of committing corruption. Some netizens believed that he gained a large amount of money from this project, while some netizens connected this issue to the recent out-of-the-country trips of the actor-politician with his family.
