Pet Groomer At Large for Killing Customer’s Beloved Dog in Panabo City
The police authorities are searching for a pet groomer accused of killing a shih tzu named Fluffy inside a pet salon in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
Recently, June Jane Gentiles Chua, a Facebook user, is seeking justice for her beloved dog allegedly killed by a pet groomer. The post elicited various reactions from the online community.
According to Chua, Fluffy was more than just a pet, he was considered a member of their family. She called for justice after receiving the necropsy report, which revealed that Fluffy died from strangulation, causing the collapse of his trachea.

The report also indicated multiple bruises, blood clots, a broken leg, and severe internal injuries, pointing to a violent death.
The Panabo Pet Grooming Station issued an apology and confirmed that the person involved was one of their regular employees. They explained that the groomer might have been dealing with mental health issues at the time.
The shop has since terminated the employee and is fully cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) stated that the suspect will face charges under the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 once apprehended. For now, the groomer remains at large, and law enforcers continue to track down his whereabouts.
The incident earned online discussions about stricter regulation of pet grooming establishments and the need for mental health checks for employees handling animals. Many animal lovers also expressed their grief, saying pets deserve safety and care in places meant to groom and protect them.
The family hopes that justice will soon be served so that no other pet will have to suffer the same fate.
