Daughter of Housemaid Receives P220,000 Scholarship
The daughter of a housemaid from Sumilang Elementary School was awarded the “Outstanding Student Award” by the Rizal Provincial Government.
Recently, the Facebook page of Jun-Andeng Ynare shared the awarding of the scholarship to a female student who was revealed to be the daughter of a househelp. The student received praise and recognition from the online community.
Graziella V. Dizon, the youngest of four siblings, has become an inspiration after being awarded the “Natatanging Mag-aaral Award” by the Rizal Provincial Government. This recognition comes with a scholarship grant worth P220,000, giving her a chance to continue her education without putting more financial strain on her family.

Dizon grew up in a humble household. Her mother works as a househelp in Metro Manila and is only able to visit them once a week, while her father has been absent since her birth. Together with her siblings, she is lovingly cared for by their grandmother, who works as a seamstress.
Despite the combined income of her mother and grandmother, there were many days when money was still not enough to cover their daily needs.
Even as a child, Graziella understood the weight of their situation. She would help her grandmother deliver the clothes she sewed and sold small items like hair clips and homemade polvoron to earn a little extra money.

Her hardships never stopped her from excelling in school. She maintained good grades, actively participated in class, and even joined a cosplay contest where she proudly won first runner-up. Her winning costume was sewn by her grandmother, making the moment even more special.
The scholarship she received covers P60,000 for senior high school and P160,000 for four years of college. The support brings her closer to her dream of becoming a teacher someday.
