Janella Salvador Speaks Up After Being Accused as Third Party in Klea Pineda’s Breakup
JANELLA SALVADOR – Actress and singer Janella Salvador is shutting down rumors linking her to Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf’s recent breakup.
Janella Salvador has addressed speculations linking her to the recent breakup of actress Klea Pineda and content creator Katrice Kierulf, clarifying that she has no involvement in the issue. During the launch of the 21st Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival held last Wednesday at Shangri-La East Atrium, Janella and Klea faced questions from the media regarding the separation.
“Siyempre, ini-expect ko na ‘yang question na ‘yan. Nasagot na naman niya (Klea) actually sa mga interviews and I’m sure people are waiting to hear from me,” Janella said when asked about her alleged connection to the breakup.
Klea and Katrice confirmed their split in July, ending their three-year relationship. However, rumors quickly spread online suggesting that a third party may have caused the separation, with Janella’s name being dragged into the issue.
The actress firmly denied the claims, saying, “I would like to exclude myself from their breakup. Hindi po totoo ‘yung third-party allegations. Kung anuman ‘yung naging reason ng breakup nila, better po na sila na ‘yung (sumagot). Hindi po ako part ng breakup.”
Klea, who was seated beside her, quickly came to her defense, stating, “Labas si Janella doon.”
Despite the controversy, both actresses emphasized that their closeness developed naturally while working together on Open Endings, one of the 10 official full-length entries in this year’s Cinemalaya, which runs from October 3 to 12. The film explores a sapphic narrative about four exes who remain friends, featuring Janella, Klea, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and introducing newcomer Leanne Mamonong.
When asked if their bond extended beyond the set, Klea admitted that they do spend time together outside of work. “Yeah, of course. Nakikita naman ‘yun online,” she said.
Janella echoed her statement, adding, “Kung ano ‘yung nakikita n’yo, ‘yun na ‘yun.”
With their joint film project now in the spotlight, both stars appear determined to focus on their careers and set aside rumors, letting their work speak louder than the speculation surrounding them.
