Rodante Marcoleta had this statement about some personalities allegedly involved in flood control projects anomaly
Senate blue ribbon committee chairperson Rodante Marcoleta said that some personalities linked to the anomalous flood control projects were already out of the Philippines.
The flooding in the country a couple of months ago brought chaos. Heavy rains caused this unexpected result since flood control projects were funded.
This prompted the administration to investigate. Previously, President Bongbong Marcos was angered after finding out that a flood control project in Bulacan was marked “completed,” but when he visited the site, there was no structure.

On Wednesday, September 3, based on the report from GMA News Online, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta said that some personalities involved in this issue flew out of the country while the probe is still ongoing.
“Doon kasi sa mga pagtakas, hindi ko naman sinasabing tumakas na pero ‘yung mga nagsasabi sa akin, patawarin ko na sila, ay nasa Amerika na talaga ‘yung iba,” the lawmaker said.
He also stressed that it is not in the Senate panel’s power to issue a hold departure order, as what they can do is just to request a lookout order against the personalities involved in this alleged anomaly.
Marcoleta said that they had to follow the process. Under the circumstances, they will take on this responsibility. However, he stressed that they will not allow these personalities, who are allegedly involved in the anomaly, to just skip the hearing.

The Senator said that they will issue arrest warrants if the personalities ignore the subpoenas.
Sen. Rodante Marcoleta also said that there was someone who expressed willingness to identify the alleged personalities involved in the issue. On the other he said about his source, “Medyo nag-aalangan nga lang sapagkat merong threat sa buhay nila.”
He cited that there was a person who wanted to be the witness but was worried about the family. The lawmaker also pointed out that contractors are not the ones who are “most guilty,” but he wanted lawmakers and DPWH officials involved in anomalous flood control to be identified.
