Emman Atienza became one of the subjects of this issue
Social media personality Emman Atienza, the daughter of Kapuso host Kim Atienza, reacted to the allegation that her lavish lifestyle is funded by corruption.
Emman can be considered a “nepo baby.” She was born in a wealthy family with a political background. Aside from being the daughter of Kuya Kim, she is also known as the granddaughter of former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza.
Currently, her aunt Chi Atienza is the Vice Mayor of Manila, while her other aunt Maile is a councilor. Emman’s mom is also well-off. Felicia Hung-Atienza is a stockbroker, educator, and owner of Chinese International School Manila, based on the article in PEP.

Her uncle, Ali Atienza, is a former councilor of the 5th district of Manila and the undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
In a recent TikTok post, Emman Atienza denied that her lavish lifestyle is funded by corruption. This issue came from netizens’ posts calling out the lavish lifestyle of some “nepo babies.”
She stressed that even though her father’s side of the family is into politics, she never used this to get the privilege to sustain her luxurious lifestyle.
“One of the most frustrating pieces of misinformation that was spread about me during the ‘Guess the bill’ controversy when everyone was hating on me in the Philippines— because trust me, there was so much misinformation that I was genuinely considering getting lawyers involved—was that my lifestyle, my schooling, my house, my travels, my clothes, etc., are funded by politicians, are funded by the government, are funded by corruption,” Emman said.

She also pointed out that even though one of her grandfathers, her aunts and uncles on her father’s side are in politics, her immediate family has nothing to do with politics, and that the financial support she received did not come from politicians.
Meanwhile, Emman Atienza went viral last year because of her TikTok showcasing her “guess the bill” challenge. For some netizens, it was inappropriate for her and her friends to flaunt their wealth.
