Jericho Rosales Reveals Reason For His Showbiz Hiatus

Jericho Rosales took a break from showbiz for a while

A-list actor Jericho Rosales revealed the reason for his showbiz hiatus that lasted for quite a while.

Jericho or Echo is one of the matinee idols of his generation in the entertainment industry. He has done a lot of projects that established his name in showbiz as an A-list actor.

Amid his popularity and success in the entertainment industry, the actor had a time in his career when he decided to stop doing projects. Before doing the series Lavender Fields last year, the last series he did was Halik in 2018.

He also did a movie that year, Girl in the Orange Dress, and years passed before he did a film again. Jericho is currently promoting his new movie Quezon.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Jericho Rosales shared that people around him knew his personality. Time would come when he would just feel like leaving everything.

“My team knows this about me, it’s just I will reach a certain peak or a certain height and then mare-realize ko na may kulang, may mali, then I’ll stop,” the actor shared. When that time came, he switched music. He just wanted to stop and restart, and then he would go back to a certain level.

There was also a point when he decided not to do TV projects anymore to study filmmaking. The most recent hiatus he did was during the pandemic. “Pinaka-recent one of course the pandemic, but even before the pandemic, I said after ‘Halik,’ I’ll stop TV work muna. Like, really stop,” he said.

Even if he received a contract offer, he said no. Just before the pandemic, he learned how to produce films.

“As a creative producer, of course a producer also like behind the scenes, you know trying to learn how to raise money for projects and how to create business plans, and actually how to write the script, how to work with producers, how to work with directors, learn about the industry that I work in,” he shared.

Jericho Rosales also shared that his main decision was to go back to movies. It was because back then, he deprived himself of doing movies because of a certain fear.

He also admitted that he feared for his decision because he knew that many things would change and might be gone. The actor was aware that not doing teleseryes could mean that the people would forget him, or maybe endorsement would be gone

“Kailangan palo ka nang palo, pukpok ka nang pukpok kasi hindi mo alam puwede mangyari bukas, mga ganu’n. Actually normal naman ‘yun, e, and I just realized that I’ve just built differently,” Jericho Rosales said.
