Korina Sanchez’s Interview w/ Sarah Discaya Deleted from YouTube

From Viral to Removed: Korina Sanchez’s Sarah Discaya Interview Sparks Questions

KORINA SANCHEZ – Broadcaster Korina Sanchez’s interview with Sarah Discaya has mysteriously disappeared from YouTube, leaving fans and viewers wondering what led to its removal.

A recent controversy has put the spotlight on an interview involving Sarah Discaya, after her appearance in two separate programs drew public scrutiny. From more than 300,000 views before Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto’s viral Facebook post on August 21, 2025, Julius Babao’s interview with Sarah and her husband, Curlee Discaya, has now reached over 847,000 views (as of August 23) on his Unplugged YouTube channel.

The interview with the Discaya couple was originally conducted in September 2024. Despite its deactivated comments section and waves of negative reactions, the video continues to attract attention.

One major point of discussion was Sarah’s reasoning for purchasing a luxury Rolls Royce, which costs between $407,750 (PHP23 million) and $472,750 (PHP26.7 million). The car, featuring a Hermes orange interior, is just one of 40 luxury vehicles owned by the couple.

While Babao’s interview remains online, Korina Sanchez’s separate feature with Sarah on Korina Interviews has since been removed. The episode, uploaded on January 5, 2025 via Net25’s YouTube channel with the headline “A Victim of Bullying, Now a Politician,” was still available by the morning of August 22 but had disappeared later that evening. In the conversation, Korina described Sarah as someone “binabaha ng suwerte.”

Seven months later, however, Sarah now finds herself at the center of controversy over alleged irregularities in flood control projects. Following Mayor Vico Sotto’s Facebook post referencing the interviews, the producers of Korina’s program issued a clarification: “In fairness to Ms. Sanchez, our host interviewer, she only found out she was interviewing a Pasig mayoralty candidate on the day itself and it was not Ms. Sanchez who was in contact with the couple for the interview.”

Still, questions linger. Industry observers argue that it is crucial for talk show hosts to be properly briefed on their interviewees to prepare effectively. They also note that hosts have the right to decline conversations when they feel uncomfortable with the chosen guest.
