CRISTY FERMIN – Showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin has stirred controversy after casting doubt on Liza Soberano’s recent revelation about her childhood struggles.
Cristy Fermin has spoken out regarding Liza Soberano’s recent revelation about the struggles she faced during her childhood. Liza’s statement has sparked discussions online, with Cristy expressing doubt over the actress’s claims.
In the latest episode of her YouTube show Showbiz Now Na!, Cristy candidly shared her thoughts on Liza’s revelation. According to her, while the actress’s story evokes sympathy, she finds it difficult to believe.
“Sorry, pero ako mismo hindi ako naniniwala,” Cristy firmly stated.
She added that if everything Liza shared were indeed true, she would genuinely feel sorry for the actress: “Unang-una, kung ang lahat ng kwento ni Liza Soberano sa kanyang litanyang ito ay totoo, ay nakoh! Nakaawa talaga siya. Sobra siyang nakakakaawa.”
Despite this, Cristy questioned why Liza chose to disclose these details only now, instead of when she first entered showbiz. She remarked that earlier revelations might have earned her more sympathy from the public.
“Ang tanong na lamang po, bakit kasi ngayon lang niya ito inilantad. Dapat noong pumasok siya sa lokal na aliwan ‘nung mag-artista siya inilahad na niya itong kwentong ito, nakuha pa niya ang simpatya ng publiko.”
“Pero ang tanong nga ng marami, kahit ako ang tanong ko, bakit ngayon lang?”
Cristy also expressed skepticism over Liza’s claim of recalling experiences from the age of two. She explained that most children at that age only know how to eat, sleep, and play, making such vivid memories questionable.
“Dalawang taong gulang? Paano ko mapagkakatiwalaan ang kwento at pagbabalik-tanaw ng dalawang taong gulang?” she asked.
Furthermore, Cristy highlighted what she saw as a contradiction in Liza’s ability to remember her early struggles but not extend gratitude to ABS-CBN and her former manager, Ogie Diaz, when she decided to leave Philippine showbiz.
“Retentive pala siya, bakit nung bigla siyang umalis sa pag-aartista dito sa Pilipinas e hindi niya naalala na pasalamatan ang ABS-CBN at si Ogie Diaz na tunay na naging dahilan para kahit na paano ang pangarap niya ay maabot… Maalalahanin pala siya.”
Towards the end of her commentary, Cristy also questioned whether Liza’s recent statements were connected to her supposed struggles in pursuing a Hollywood career.
“Ano ba ‘to desperate move? Ito ba’y nagiging desperada na si Liza Soberano dahil epic fail ang kanyang Hollywood dream?”
