Mayor Benjamin Magalon believed that this fiery statement of Richard Gomez was directed at him
Leyte’s 4th District Representative Richard Gomez shared an intriguing post on his Facebook page, and this received a reaction from Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
In Gomez’s post, he slammed the “clean” mayor for attacking congressmen and accused them of corruption. The actor-politician also stressed that the mayor is so noisy, but he should have faced the congressman he was referring to, instead of dragging other congressmen.
Gomez did not mention any name in his post, but many netizens guessed that it was Mayor Magalong. The actor-politician received polarizing comments for what he said. Some netizens supported him, but some said that he reacted because he was hit.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, the Baguio City Mayor believed that the congressman was referring to him.
“Alam mo nalulungkot ako dahil kaibigan ko siya. Tapos alam mo, honorary member pa siya ng klase namin,” Magalong said. The Mayor was surprised by Gomez’s comment because, as he knew, they were friends.
Magalong also stressed that he made it clear in his interviews that there were congressmen who do their jobs properly. He added that explaining will do nothing when “the truth doesn’t make a mark.”

“Pero I finally realized na it’s useless to argue. Sabi nga nila, ‘argument is wasted when the truth doesn’t make a mark.’ Kung sanay ka sa dark, sa madilim na lugar, mahirap ka talagang makakita ng maliwanag kaya hayaan ko na lang,” the Baguio City Mayor said.
As of this writing, Rep. Richard Gomez has not yet spoken about Mayor Magalong’s statement. However, the actor-politician shared a write-up on his Facebook page about a Manila solon who supported his statement against the “mayor.” They slammed the said mayor because other congressmen were being dragged into the issue.
