Authorities Arrest 26-Year-Old Man for Robbing Fried Chicken Store
A 26-year-old man was arrested after robbing a 25-year-old female store attendant at a fried chicken shop in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.
On Monday afternoon (August 18, 2025). the suspect pretended to be a customer and ordered four pieces of chicken wings. Once the order was ready, he suddenly pulled out an improvised firearm, also known as a pen gun, and pointed it at the store attendant.
According to the Marikina City Police Station OIC Col. Geoffrey Fernandez, the culprit threatened her not to scream and demanded all the money from the store, along with her cellphone.
“Nang matapos na itong umorder at naihanda na ng biktima, na siyang crew sa store, agad bumunot ng improvised firearm ang suspek na isang pen gun at itinutok sa biktima. Sinabing huwag sisigaw at ibigay sa kanya lahat ng pera kasama ang kanyang cellphone,” Fernandez said.
The suspect quickly fled, taking with him the store’s earnings and the victim’s phone, with a total value of nearly P9,000. Witnesses said the store attendant ran after him, crying and desperate to get back her phone and the store’s money.
Police and barangay officials immediately responded and managed to catch the suspect hiding under a vehicle. Recovered from him were the stolen cellphone, cash, and the pen gun he used in the crime.

The suspect admitted to the robbery, saying he only needed money to buy medicine for his wife. However, police records revealed that he had been involved in several theft cases across Metro Manila and had previous charges for illegal possession of firearms and bladed weapons.
He is now under the custody of the Marikina police and is facing charges of Robbery with Violence Against or Intimidation of a Person, as well as violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The quick arrest brought relief to the victim and residents, who feared the suspect’s repeated crimes in the area.
