Maine Mendoza slammed the negative reactions
Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza explained her revelation about her past with Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards.
Maine and Alden were known as the AlDub loveteam through Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye. Their onscreen partnership was a big hit, and fans were anticipating that they were a real couple in real life.
However, through an open letter to their fans, Maine clarified that she and Alden were just friends. Both of them have clarified in past interviews that there was no truth to the rumor that they were married and had a child.
In a recent podcast with the Dabarkads, Maine Mendoza mentioned that she fell in love with Alden Richards, and she asked him what he felt for her.
The actress-host shared that the actor’s reply to this was that he can’t answer that because the magic will be gone. Apparently, this received negative reactions on social media.
Through her broadcast channel on Instagram, Maine said that she did not expect that the podcast would create a controversy because both sides have moved on already.
She also said that the podcast was intended to reminisce about the Kalyeserye and their experiences at that time. Since Alden was part of it, Maine pointed out that it was natural that he would be included in the discussion. They did not intend to provoke negative reactions, and she just shared a short anecdote.
The actress-host also stressed that what they shared on the podcast was just a small portion of the countless stories they did not share. “All stories shared were surface-level,” she said.
Maine said that she can’t understand why someone would get bashed for saying his or her truth. She can’t see the reason why people would resort to personal attacks.
The actress-host also said that comparison is not a good thing to do. Apparently, bashers were comparing her and Alden’s achievements in showbiz. She stressed that everything is okay between the Dabarkads, as well as between her and Alden.
“Please don’t throw hate on Alden. Regardless of what he meant by his words, it was really for the best for both of us and our situation at that time. Don’t read much into it,” Maine Mendoza said.
