Bela Padilla was heard by the BOC
Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla reacted to the apology released by the Bureau of Customs regarding her complaint.
Bela is one of the prominent talents of ABS-CBN. She has done movies that proved her acting caliber, and she also ventured into directing with the film 366 as her directorial debut.
Aside from acting and directing, Bela is also a writer. This is the reason why she is called “multihyphenate.”

Bela Padilla is more than just a celebrity because she also voices out her thoughts on certain social issues, especially if she personally experiences them.
The actress voiced out her complaint regarding the tax being asked for her to pay for the item she purchased online. She pointed out that the amount on the BOC’s online calculator was far different from the actual tax she was asked to pay.
BOC addressed this issue. Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said that the BOC’s online calculator was not functioning properly, and he apologized to the actress. Based on the article in ABS-CBN, Bela Padilla reacted to the apology she received from Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.
She was glad to have discussed this matter with the Commissioner. The actress appreciated the explanation from the head of BOC regarding her complaint.
“I love that I had a very good conversation with Commissioner Nepomuceno yesterday. We explained a few things to each other, kasi obviously as a taxpayer and a customer of DHL, I had questions about the charges noong Friday. He was able to explain certain things to me and after that I called DHL again ’cause there were wrong computations pa rin doon sa babayaran,” the actress shared.

Bela also mentioned that the charges were ridiculous because they were close to the actual amount of the items she bought.
“I’ve also shipped things in London and other places and this is the only country na sobrang taas ng charges — almost half of the amount of my package so, I just want to see where the money was going,” the actress added.
Bela Padilla also stressed that she did not receive a breakdown, a letter, or an email, which was not the usual thing. As the one paying for it, she stressed that it is important to see what she was paying for.
The actress appreciated the agency’s effort to take this matter seriously. She stressed that this is not about how big or small the amount is. Bela was also thinking about other people who might have the same experience.
