Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Compares PH Education w/ those Abroad
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President compared the education in the Philippines with those offered in other countries abroad.
Amid the accusations against her over misused Confidential Funds, her impeachment case, and the issues surrounding her frequent travels, the Vice President remains to be present in events abroad.

The office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently confirmed her travel to Kuwait but clarified that her trip is authorized and is part of her responsibilities to the people. The Office of the Vice President (OVP) also claimed that no public funds are used in the all the overseas trips of Duterte.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously defended her frequent travels abroad citing the allegedly “frustrated” Filipino communities in other countries. According to her, Pinoys abroad are supposedly filled with frustration over what is happening in the Philippines.

Malacañang was quick to react to Vice Pres. Duterte’s claim over her frequent travels abroad. Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro previously stressed that her trips abroad is not the solution if there are problems in the country. According to her, Duterte is also not mandated in the Constitution to travel and ruin the reputation of the President and call for his ouster.

In her recent trip to Kuwait, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte attended the Hakbang ng Maisug event wherein she compared the education in the Philippines with those in other countries abroad. Based on a report on PhilStar, she claimed that the country is allegedly stuck in “paper and pencil”.
According to Duterte, it allegedly takes long for the Philippines to catch up with modernization. She stressed that students in other nations are already learning about “robotics and coding”.
“At age three and four, they already know how to read. While in our country, there are high school students who still do not know how to read,” the Vice President said.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has served as the chief of the Department of Education from June 30, 2022 to July 19, 2024. Based on the report, the Vice President said there are a lot of things that can be done to improve the Philippine education.
Previously, the office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte assured that they remain ready to serve the Filipinos in the country and abroad even with a ‘limited budget’.
