Last August 6, the Senate decided on the impeachment case against the Vice President following the decision released by the Supreme Court. The upper chamber voted to archive the impeachment complaint.

Nineteen (19) senators in the Senate voted to archive the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte while four (4) senators were against the motion introduced by Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Rodante Marcoleta. One senator abstained from voting.

Aside from the impeachment case and the allegations of misused confidential funds, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is also questioned about her frequent travel abroad. She’s been to several countries this year and met with the Duterte supporters in most of her foreign trips.
In fact, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office confirmed that she is currently in Kuwait but stressed that the Vice President is not using public funds in “all” her travels abroad. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Office of the Vice President stressed that her travel to Kuwait is in line with her duties to the Filipinos.
Furthermore, according to the office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, they remain ready to serve the Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad even with a limited budget and capacity.
